Favorite TV Shows?! 2015

Besides being a total bookworm, I'm also a lonely TV lover who sits by Netflix 24/7. I've come across a couple great TV shows that all of you will LOVE!
*Just as a side note, I watch many Tv Shows, but I chose three to suggest to you guys today!

Beauty And The Beast - Season 3 is airing May 21st - The CW
This is my favorite Tv Show of ALL TIME. Whenever I suggest this show to a friend, everyone is so surprised that Beauty and The Beast is actually a TV show. I admit it, I was surprised whilst scrolling through Netflix.

This show shows perfect balance of everything; action, romance, comedy, etc. That's one of the many reasons I love it so much. Next reason is the acting and the actors. Not only are the really good, Kristin Kreuk(Catherine Chandler aka the girl you see in the picture) is one of the prettiest human beings ever and her eyes are just the coolest things to look at. I love how the main character, Catherine and all the other characters are so bad-ass. They can kick so much butt and they need to too with all of the villains after them.

Beauty and The Beast is about a homicide detective named Catherine Chandler who was saved years ago from a shooting by a mysterious beast. Of course, everyone thinks that she's insane to have seen a "beast". Catherine is much more grown up now and she runs into the beast again whilst working on a case and her life is changed forever.

To be honest, I think The CW really needs to give this show more credit. It needs to make this series more known because if they put more spotlight onto it, I bet it would have a humongous fanbase.

The 100 - Season 2 Finale aired recently - The CW
The CW really makes the best TV Shows. The 100 is another one of my favorites. It is definitely action packed, but very gory, so beware if you're a youngster.

As much as this show is awesome, the one criticism is that maybe the writers should lay low on the action sequences and add a touch more romance and humor. I feel like it's been so long since I've laughed at something o the show because it's quite humorless. I believe the last time I actually laughed was when Murphy said that he would kill that guy, but remembered that he wasn't supposed to be violent so he added, "In a nonviolent way." That was funny. Anyways, I praise the acting and the writing. The acting is really one of the bests I've seen in so long. All of the actors do the best jobs they can and it's very good. The writing always keeps us on the edge of our seats!

The 100 is a post-apocalyptic story, where humans have been vanished from Earth by radiation 97 years ago. The few survivors made their way into space and built a home up there. Now, 97 years later, a group of 100 kids that have caused crimes are sent down to earth to see if it's liveable. One of the kids is Clarke Griffin, the main character and a stubborn, but born leader.

Honestly, I liked Season 1 better than the second because it was just faster and all the context was definitely more balanced. Thankfully it have been renewed, so that now we can continue on with Season 3!

Once Upon A Time - On Air Now For Season 4B - ABC
This is one of my recent favorites because I just got caught up a few days ago! This is the kind of TV Show that I grown to love, but it was't love at first sight. In fact, if I was still in the 1st to 2nd Season, I would be telling you how bad it is!

OUAT was definitely not love at first sight, as I said before. I loved the fairytale concept, but in seasons 1 and 2, the balance was not right. There would be way too much explaining(which I understand the reason of) and too little action, romance, and humor. Also, the acting wasn't on point with especially the child actors. I found Henry's acting to be a bit uncomfortable. Obviously, he's got better. Now, in Season 4, the romance has picked up(Captain Swan is life), the action is there, Killian's lines are awesome(along with Emma's snarky remarks and Regina's very dry humor), and there is not as much explaining. My favorite characters have to be Emma(obvi) and Regina(because she is so fabulous), but I also really love Belle.

Once Upon A Time is about a woman named Emma Swan, who is completely normal until her son Henry, who she had given up to adoption, takes her to a town called Storybrooke, where apparently everyone is a fairytale character and she is the savior. Naturally, she doesn't believe this, but many elements will cause her to save these people.

The beginning of this show is fairly boring, but please continue! It gets so so good in the third season and even better as it continues on!

⇝Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins⇜

Links:
Amazon | Goodreads

Summary: Harper Price is your ideal girl; pretty, smart, kind, and popular. Her life used to be simple until she was kissed by the school janitor in the ladies' room and got intense powers that allow her to kick some butt. After some research she comes to the conclusion that she's a Paladin and that it is her mandate to protect someone. That someone happens to be David Stark, annoying ass journalist. Can Harper survive(literally) her junior year?

Non-Spoiler Review: This was one of those books where the second you finished it, you wanted to read the next one. Some of you might want to wait until the second book comes out(Apr.7.2015) until you read it because it's actually a bit frustrating. Anyhow, the plot of this book was like nothing I've ever seen before. It's overachiever meets ninjas. Harper was a very 3-dimensional character and I liked how all she cared about in the hardest of times was that her parents are okay. Literally, she doesn't care if she dies, but she knows that her death will kill her parents, so she has to make sure she doesn't. David Stark is basically everything I am looking for in a male specimen down to his nerdiness. I don't understand why she finds him so aggravating. David Stark is definitely one of the many reasons that I will be reading the next book. There was quite a bit of action, drama, and the humor was humorous. I laughed at Harper's antics so much.

Spoiler-y Review: The millisecond that I finished the book, I knew this would be in my favorites. Out of all of the books I've read this year, Rebel Belle is by far the best.

It starts off with Harper worrying about her lips, something so naive compared to her character development in the rest of the story. After killing her history teacher, I could tell the story was getting funky. I found it kinda hilarious that she did her research on Google because usually in kick-butt books, the hero always finds the wise old owl or some ancient library to get the info, but Harper uses something so modern. Then, we really get to see David Stark when he writes the article about Harper, which was a bitch move for him, but I still loved him because who doesn't??? Another part I found so funny was when Harper was testing out her powers. First, she slapped that guy(I don't remember his name!) and then she hits this random girl with her pen and blames it on speedy writing and lotion. Because yes, that happens to the best of us. I loved all the David and Harper bickering at the beginning of the book to the middle, where they kinda just accepted each other. The interview for the scholarship was obviously a trap, but it led to Harper threatening Blythe with a stapler, which was very comical. Let's talk about Bee for a sec here. She was such a good friend when she offered to not go to Cotillion just because Harper wouldn't be attending. Obviously, they ended up attending Cotillion, which was a pretty bad disaster considering Bee got taken and David got turned into so glowing Oracle. The whole thing with the punch was actually a surprise to me and it was very smart of Blythe.

I'm worried that the oracle thing is going to eat the David we know up and replace it with some monster. That is actually one of my fears for the next book.

For me, this book was next to perfect. I love it so so much!

Rating: 9.8/10

Recommend? YES to basically everyone because this is the ideal book. Loved it!

JLaw Book Tag(aka pick Cassandra Clare's books for everything)

*This is Tashapolis' version!
I am so so in love with Jennifer Lawrence so when I saw that there was a tag, I just had to do it... so here I am!

1. Swearing off social media- A book you refuse to read?
I actually have no idea why I refuse to read The Maze Runner. I've seen the movie, which I thought was confusing, but good. I think that it's maybe because I've heard so many bad reviews on it that I won't even bother anymore.

2. The Oscar trip- A book/series that hit a snag?

All of Cassandra Clare's books have pretty big obstacles. I think my biggest book plot twist would have to be the whole Magister thing in The Infernal Devices. I love how great of a writer Cass is and how she can create such emotionally intense villains that make the story so much awesomer!

3. The viral TSwift photobomb at the Golden Globes: A book/series you didn't know would get so popular?

I don't really know, but I guess Paper Towns, in a way. When I read it, I hated it. No offense, I adored The Fault In Our Stars, but Paper Towns was not my jam. Now they're making a movie??? I just don't get it anymore...

4. Work with David O. Russel- Dysfunctional character you can't help but love?

The best characters are dysfunctional, honestly. My favorite is Will Herondale. Ahhhh the dysfunctionality of that guy just makes him even better. And to think that once I hated him for being so rude... he is such a great character, definitely my favorite of Cassandra's.

5. Mystique- A villain who thinks they're doing what's right?

Once again, I am chosing one of Cassandra Clare's characters. Valentine Morgenstern. So many love Sebastian, which I don't understand. Valentine actually thought that what he was doing was correct and was good for his people, Sebastian was just selfish.

6. Bradley cooper: What author do you find yourself always coming back to?

I really don't have one. However, if Stephanie Perkins continues on with the Anna and The French Kiss books, I'm all for that. We need more Anna and Etienne goodness!

7. Spoiled for Homeland on National television: A plot line you were spoiled for?

Oh my god, I saw this video and it was so so funny, Jen was just so mad at the interviewer, which she has every right to be. Anyways, I was spoiled for the end of The Mortal Instruments: City of Heavenly Fire, by my friend, who is an insane fan. It's the thing that happens to Simon*wink*. And thinking about it now, my friend also spoiled the thing with Jem for me, dammit.

8. The Hunger Games- Favorite high profile series?

Am I allowed to pick The Hunger Games? I feel like lots of the Hunger Games excitement from when Catching Fire(movie) was released has died down. It's still my ultimate favorite series. It's the series that got me reading, so naturally, I love it. No series compares to it in any form. I think lots of you feel that way for Harry Potter or Twilight. Like, it's my baby, don't hurt it!

9. Everyone's obsession with being her best friend: A character who's make your ultimate best friend?

I think I'd like to be best friends with Tessa from The Infernal Devices. She's so ladylike and she adores books, so we can recommend books to each other and talk about them for hours. Plus, I think she's really really smart and you know, you are who you hang out with. Okay, fine, and she comes with Will Herondale, so...

10. Everything she's ever said- Favorite comedic/snarky character?

Currently, I am reading Rebel Belle and Harper's sass is just too much sometimes. It's not even what she says to people(though that is hilarious), it's what she's thinking. The way her mind works is pretty darn witty and I think mine works the same way, so I can really connect.

Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson

Links: Goodreads | Amazon

Summary:
Emily was always the quiet one, the one that followed her best friend, Sloane's conversations. Sloane was a social butterfly, the girl who lit up the room. The summer of their junior year, Sloane disappears, leaving Emily only a list of things that are so un-Emily like. She believes that completing this list would lead her to her best friend. What she doesn't know is that it will lead her to so much more than Sloane.

Non-Spoiler Review:
I'm sure many of you have heard that this book is pretty/really/impossibly good and I agree, sort of. If you're looking for a book with lots of romance, then this isn't it. There is romance, but it moves slowly and you don't get many super romantic moments that make you gushy. The concept/plot of this book is very well sought out and I praise the author for that. Emily, as a character, was relate-able for me because I'm not an outspoken person either and many of my friends over shadow me like Sloane. All in all, the book was great. It could have used a bit more romantic action but the friendship between Sloane and Emily was darn cute.

Spoiler-y Review:
I'm so excited to review this really great book:) First off, I loved the play lists! The book doesn't exactly start off on a high note... like, where is Sloane? A list? Frank Porter? We get to our first little excerpt of before Sloane went missing and you can just feel Sloane's personality radiating off of her almost as much as you can feel hers and Emily's friendship, which I loved. Their friendship was so sweet, yet so real. For example, the whole Same and Gideon thing could actually have happened.

Next, we see Emily completing the things on her list with Frank, Dawn, and Collins. It was cool, wondering how she would complete each thing. The stranger kissing one was so straight forward, I actually didn't expect it. My favorite would have to be the Dance Until Dawn one because we really get to see Frank and Emily's relationship grow to something beautiful.

Honestly, I expected much more romance than the last page or two. I wanted to see Em and Frank together as a couple. Take Anna and The French Kiss for example, the romance in that was so great that it was frustrating seeing them not together. It's almost as though Emily didn't even go through that much emotionally when Frank rejected her(sorta) after the kiss, even though we all know that she did. I did like how Dawn got all defensive when Em told her that she kissed Frank because of Dawn's boyfriend troubles. That, I felt, was just so part of Dawn's character. The romance would be my only critique even though I know that this book isn't about the romance.

The ending was better than I expected it to be. I was wondering while reading this book, how is Morgan Matson going to explain Sloane's disappearance? But, she did and it was great. I totally understood that Sloane didn't want to hurt Em, so she thought that not saying anything would be better. I was really hoping to not have a Paper Towns Margo explanation because that sucked. Thank god it didn't. One thing about the ending, I would've been furious with Sloane for not even replying to my messages. I think Em was a bit mad, but I would've thought she'd be madder.

Personally, I could relate to Em's shyness and how she has this social butterfly best friend. As for Frank, I think that he's kinda cute with his totally formal stuff during school and his fun personality outside of school. Even though this books wasn't particularly funny(okay, the pony riding scenes were hilarious), Collins gave it the twinge of quirkiness it needed. Dawn was just... there? We didn't really see much of who she is and her personality is kind of plain.

Considering all, I really did enjoy this book, but it wasn't like everyone told me it was either. Maybe it's one of those books where the second time you read it, it's better. I DID LOVE IT THOUGH.

Rating: 8.8/10

Would I Recommend? If you love cute contemporary, then obviously yes. If you're looking for something very romance-y, then try Stephanie Perkins' books!

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare Review:)

Link: https://www.goodreads.com/series/44457-the-mortal-instruments

Summary: Clary Fray finds that there is so much more to the world the night she sees Jace Wayland murder a demon. She is soon trapped in a world with Shadowhunters, Downworlders, demons and many other things she never thought was real. Clary sets out to find her stolen mother with her new Shadowhunter friends and finds out a couple things about herself along the way.

Non-Spoiler Review: I read The Infernal Devices prior to reading this series and I loved TID so much that I can't even think about it clearly without crying. The Mortal Instruments, unfortunately, paled in comparison to that. It was action packed, but still slow. I think Cassandra Clare could have left it as just a trilogy and I think I would've liked the series better if it ended with the third book because it is my favorite out of the six.
You really have to push through some of the books. The main character, Clary Fray is pretty annoying because her decisions are usually impulsive and she doesn't think clearly. Jace is an okay male character, but I definitely liked Will Herondale from TID better;)

Spoiler-y Review: The saddest/best part of these books was Simon Lewis. That guy was just dragged into all of this by Clary and he chose to stay by her because he knows how to love someone. He's so adorable and geeky and funny, so I'd totally date him. Plus, at the end of City of Heavenly Fire, he loses his memory, which he doesn't deserve, but he does anyways so that Magnus wouldn't die AND IT'S THE SWEETEST/SADDEST THING IN THE WORLD. When he becomes a shadowhunter, he should be Clary's parabatai because YES. The villains in this story were well thought out, especially Sebastian. I have friends who adore Sebastian, whereas I think he deserved to die. Jonathan(the one who emerged when Sebastian had fallen) didn't deserve it, but Sebastian could go throw himself off a cliff for all I care. Valentine was different... he thought that what he was doing was right and he loved. Sebastian nearly RAPED his sister. We also have the complicated love story that is Clary and Jace. For the first 3 books, they think that they're brother and sister, but yet still have feelings for each other. In the 4th book, they can be together, but Jace gets possessed and at the end you're like WTF??? In the 5th book, Jace is Sebastian. In the 6th, we finally get to see them together after a 5 book wait. I don't know if it was worth it. I really enjoyed how they incorporated TID characters into this with Will, Jem, and Tessa, even though Tessa's part was smaller than I thought it would be. In conclusion, I hope Cassandra Clare continues to write in this fascinating world she created because her stories are really good.

Rating: 7.5/10

Would I Recommend It: Read The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare before this one because it has spoilers for those books and because those are a lot better. In general, if you like bad-ass characters and fantasy, give this a try:)
