Taylor Swift Book Tag!

1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together - pick a book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.
The Fault in Our Stars all the way. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. It was insanely popular last year and I can't deny that I was in love with it for a short amount of time. I thought it was the best contemporary you could ever read, but now as I dive deeper into the contemporary genre, I can see my fault. If you still think that TFIOS is so fab, then you need to read Anna and The French Kiss.

2. Red - pick a book with a RED cover.
Imma just chose Catching Fire for the simplicity of it.

3. The Best Day - pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.
HOW CAN YOU JUST PICK ONE??? I recently read The Infernal Devices and BRUH. That book gave me mushy, warm feelings all over and it wasn't natural. I especially liked clockwork Princess(I did not like the epilogue though) because Tessa and Will. GOD.

4. Love Story - pick a book with forbidden love.
I'm currently reading The Mortal Instruments: City of Fallen Angels and I'm gonna just chose that entire series because... if you've read it, you know. I'm not gonna spoil it because I don't enjoy purposely spoiling people, but let's just say that for the first 3 books, Clary and Jace's love isn't exactly legal... in any way.

5. I Knew You Were Trouble - pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.
They're called villains for a reason... but, if I had to choose, I would choose Valentine from TMI. I know, I know that that's an awful choice because Valentine didn't even really love his kids, but he did??? Does that make sense? Anyways, he thought he was doing good by doing what he was doing. Obviously, he was doing it the wrong way(very wrong), but his intention were what he thought was angelic and pure.

6. Innocent (written b/c of Kanye West!) - pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.
I think almost everyone has been spoiled about the ending of this book because it's freakishly hard not to do so. If you still don't know what happens at the end of Allegiant, I won't say anything, but I cried and I didn't even like Allegiant at all. It was just really sad. Like, don't even.

7. Everything Has Changed - pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.
Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games, more so the movies than the books. She's like totally Capitol woman, then she slowly starts seeing how awful the capitol is and really changes to love something more than her fancy outfits and colorful wigs.

8. You Belong With Me - pick your most anticipated book release.
It comes out in 2017. UGH. The Last Hours by Cassandra Clare. I need more William Herondale in my life.

9. Forever and Always - pick your favorite book couple.
ONCE AGAIN, HOW CAN YOU PICK JUST ONE??? Day and June? Etienne and Anna? Tessa and Will? Jace and Clary? You pick for me.

10. Come Back, Be Here - pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.
I just recently got Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson and the book cover is so pretty, like DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH IT.

Anna and The French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6936382-anna-and-the-french-kiss

Summary: Quirky Anna Oliphant is forced to spend her senior year in Paris, France, the place that everyone dreams of going. That is... everyone except Anna. She'd rather be back home in Atlanta where she knows everything. Her whole experience is flipped when she meets dashing british-accented Etienne St. Clair. But, he has a girlfriend. And she's interested in someone else... is she?

Non-Spoiler Review: Why the hell are you still here? After reading my summary, don't you want to read it? If you still don't, then OMG JUST READ IT. I promise you that it's not as cheesy as it sounds... I mean, it is, but it isn't...? Moving on, you will fall in love with all of the characters and feel like you are actually best friends with them. Their conversations are so realistic and so fun! The relationship between Anna and Etienne really develops in front of your eyes. The book literally has love radiating off of it. I never expected to love a simple contemporary book as much as I did with this baby.

Spoiler-y Review: YOU READ IT CONGRATS YOU ARE NOW MY BEST FRIEND. Am I the only one who thought of Night Changes by One Direction because it's about how you only live once and doing different things and taking on changes? That is literally such a perfect song for the story. The story doesn't start off on a high note. Anna is crying because her parents left her in FRANCE, like who wouldn't cry? The Mer and her become friends and she meets the oh-so beautiful Etienne St Clair. I had this instinct that told me Mer liked Etienne ad then I knew that her and Anna's friendship was doomed. But, you can't even hate Meredith because she's the effing nicest person ever. Ellie, however, was much easier to hate. Not only because she was getting in the way of the destined couple, she is actually rude. She just left her friends like that and she thinks she so much better than them. To be honest, I didn't even really feel bad when she and Etienne broke it. Their relationship really escalates from the movie theater subtle touching to full out sleeping in the same bed. They do go fast and it's frustrating when Etienne goes back to Ellie, but I think that's how you're supposed to feel. I actually detested when after he had slept in Anna's bed, he basically ignored it and almost dismissed Anna. She had the absolute right to be mad at him. I don't know about you, but I cried when Etienne was telling Anna exactly how he felt about her through the year. Literal relationship goals.

Rating: 9.5/10

Would I Recommend It: YES HELL YES. Gift it to your friends for their birthdays. i used to think te Fualt in our Stars was good... pfft. Tell all your tfios lovers to pick this up!
